More about improving cycling in Miramar and Kilbirnie, from OPUS: Open Days
We are planning two open days for the public to provide input to the network planning process, these will be advertised in local newspapers closer to the time. The open days will be held at:
· Rongotai College, Saturday 17 May, 12-4pm.
· Miramar Central School, Tuesday 21 May, 5:30-8:30pm.
If you wish to send a notice to your members who may live in the area, we can provide you with a short description of the project to go into an email.
Cycle About Tours
There are also two planned ‘cycle-about’ tours for people to join a member of the project team in cycling around the network, and to discuss issues.
These will be held on the morning of the first open day, Saturday 17th May 2014.
· 8.00am to 10.30am Kilbirnie- Meet at Kilbirnie-Spruce Goose cafe.
· 10.45am to 1pm Miramar – Meet at Miramar exit to Airport underpass.
Format: Will meet, introduce riders, record all participants and agree route, then proceed to cycle network, with prescribed meeting/ stopping spots This will be led by local cyclists, with Opus recording information. Will stop at a café for 45 minutes, to discuss outcomes.
For health and safety reasons there will be a maximum number 15 cyclists. Please bring your own bicycle and helmet, will continue rain or shine bring wet weather gear.
