Here’s to the crazy ones… the misfits; the rebels; the troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them; because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do. ~D.Gahan
It’s not every sunday that i spend 6 hours biking to the top of 9 peaks in Wellington…but when Asher of Revolution Cycles got an idea in his head, it got stuck into mine too. Here was a guy who thought it might be fun to do something different. It was a challenge….ride to the top of 9 peaks in Wellington in 6 hours
The rules: Any bike, any route, be back in 6 hours
The girls were gathered: Marjolein- my usual partner in crime and Rachel-she’s got legs of steel (matching outfits, check!)
Our route was planned: Tinakori, Johnsons Hill, along Skyline to Makara Peak, down Makara, up Salvation, over to Wrights hill and Hawkins Hill, down Tip Track, over to Mt. Albert, around the zoo, up Mt. Victoria, and finishing up at Revolution Cycles in Northland.
We had a wonderful day exploring parts of Wellington that we never thought we would/could do in one day. Each peak we got to, we would look back and see how far we had come (and of course enojy some snacks!)
i guess what i’m trying to say is that sometimes all it takes is for one person to have a crazy idea and share it with everyone, and things start to happen.
So thank you Asher. thank you for your crazy idea.
PS. Just in case you were counting, we only did 7 peaks, but a glorious 7 it was!
